Shabbat Bo Shalom

Here I sit, head bent, so very far from the Egyptian desert, marveling at the snowy, winter wonderland at my window. True, I’ve been in Jerusalem when it snowed but Jerusalem is not the Sinai or the Negev. But prithee pause: How can we possibly already be reading about Pesach? Weren’t we just safely ensconced in Goshen under Yosef and Pharaoh's protection?
And yet so quickly were we enslaved—and so quickly were we redeemed. All too soon, Miriam will circle dance with the women, and no matter how we may be separated by tribe or gender or belief, God still sees us as one people, one nation. May we also aspire to do so.
Shabbat Shalom dear People.
