Barbara Seaman and Phyllis Chesler

The very best of friends. Seaman’s 1969 book, The Doctors Case Against the Pill, prompted Senate hearings that are considered the “Boston Tea Party” of the Women’s Health Movement.  Barbara, Phyllis, Belita Cowan, Alice Wolfson, and Dr. Mary Howell founded the National Women’s Health Network in the mid-70’s.  Barbara died in 2008.
